A group of Winston-Salem believers gathered with the idea of restarting a practice begun by the Moravians in the 1700s. They wanted to experience that change that would happen in the city if its residents would commit to pray for the city 24 hours a day. With that idea, Winston-Salem Prays was born. The website serves a starting point for individuals and churches to get involved with the movement.
While prayer can be a simple thing, building a website that supports a 24-hour prayer community isn’t. The website features several custom post types that help manage prayer requests, custom forms that support the anonymous submission of prayers and opportunities for people to pray for others, and integration with a multi-church/multi-facility scheduling platform.
